Setup of Rotation:
Labor and Delivery team is made up of PGY-1(runs postpartum), 2 PGY-2 (one runs the floor and the other does the c-sections), PGY-3 (runs the PETU = Prenatal Evaluation and Treatment Unit) and PGY-4 (antepartum service&oversees everything). You are there as an extra intern and should expect to be either in the PETU seeing patients or on the L&D floor writing notes/attending deliveries.
You are expected to help round on the post-partum floors every day at 6am (except Tuesday when you are at PFC). Board signout is at 8am and 6pm daily. There is a morning conference at 7am-8am daily, except Wednesday when board signout is at 8am as grand rounds is at 7.30am.
Monday – Outpatient OB/GYN office hours (you get your own patient list) in clinic across from main hospital. (WCHS clinic on 8th and Spruce).   You are expected to round on postpartum patient at the usual time and then attend board signout before clinic.
Tuesday – PFC AM office hrs then overnight call at Pennsy. Usually get to labor floor by 4-5pmish. Nightfloat gets there at 6pm for signout so be sure to be there by then at the latest.
Wednesday – Postcall, leave by noon.
Thursday – All day on OB floor.
Friday – In the morning you are at OB/GYN office hrs (you don’t have your own list, but are helping the nightfloat team by seeing as many patients as possible) – then every other Friday afternoon you have office hrs alternating with time off. Again you are expected to round on postpartum patients at the usual time before clinic.
You are supposed to take 2 calls during your month. Either two Friday calls or 1 Friday and 1 Saturday call. Friday call finishes after board signout at 8am on Saturday morning. Saturday call which starts at 8am and finishes after board signout at 8am on Sunday morning.

Computer Systems:
Sunrise-you will get a separate user ID and password for the Sunrise system at Pennsy. You will complete an online training forwarded to you by Darcy before beginning the rotation
QS: Used to access vitals, fetal heart tracings, tocodynameters for laboring patients
Charts:
Paper charts that are usually in the patient’s rooms while they are laboring or at the nurses station. All vitals are accessed through QS
Call rooms:
These are located on the second floor, below the antepartum unit. The code for the main door 4, 1 and 2, 5.   
Parking
There is an indoor parking garage across from the hospital, called Delancey Parking lot, which you will have a magnetic swipe card to get into. Darcy Penrod will give you this card or the previous resident will pass it on to you.
Cafeteria:
Meal tickets are available for your calls. You will pick these up from coordinator on your first day at the same time you get picture ID, scrub codes, computer code etc.
