The Health Annex at Myers

The Health Annex at Myers is a federally-supported community health center that is currently being run by a not-for-profit consortium. All medical care is provided by a team of nurse practitioners, with the exception of obstetric services that are provided by faculty from the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Family docs have been providing prenatal and delivery care for Health Annex patients since 1999, and are currently delivering about 40 women per year. The obstetrics practice at the Health Annex emphasizes continuity of maternity care, preventive obstetrics, and post-partum family planning. Obsetric care is provided uring two half-day sessions per week. The delivery of Health Annex patients occur at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and are usually attended by the Health Annex family physician that provided the bulk of the prenatal care. The practice will be moving in the late summer or early fall to a larger office located in the shopping plaza at 63rd and Woodland Ave.
